Question 1

What is a post image generator?

Accepted Answer

A post image generator is a tool that turns a social media post into an image: the words, with the author's name, photo and handle, drawn as a card you can post on Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest or anywhere else. This one reads the post from a link, or you type it, and makes quote cards, carousels, threads and typing videos in every size.

Question 2

How do I turn a tweet into an image?

Accepted Answer

To turn a tweet into an image, paste its link into the post image generator and press Read the post. It fills in the text, name, handle, photo and counts; pick a look and a size, then download it.

Question 3

Can I make a post image without a link?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can make a post image without a link: type the text, your name and handle, and add your photo. Everything else works the same.

Question 4

Which platforms can I paste links from?

Accepted Answer

You can paste links from X, LinkedIn, Threads, Substack, Facebook, Bluesky, Mastodon and Pinterest, short links included. Facebook shares only the first 200 characters and no photo, so you paste the rest.

Question 5

Is the post image generator free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the post image generator is free: no signup, no watermark and nothing to install. Reading links is limited to 30 posts every 10 minutes per person, so bots can't overload it.

Question 6

Can I edit the post before downloading?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can edit everything before downloading: the text, name, handle, photo, badge and each count's number. The preview redraws as you type, and Back to the original restores what the link gave.

Question 7

Why use this instead of a screenshot?

Accepted Answer

A screenshot is blurry, carries the app's buttons and comes in 1 size. The post image generator draws the post fresh at full resolution, shows only the post, fits any platform's size, and lets you fix a typo first.

Question 8

How do I make post images for every post?

Accepted Answer

Paste several links, 1 per line, and download 1 image per post in a zip. To post from your AI, my open source Threads MCP & CLI and Bluesky MCP & CLI let Claude or another AI post for you.

Question 9

Is there a watermark?

Accepted Answer

No, there's no watermark. You can add your own branding, your site or handle with your photo or logo, at the top or the bottom, and if you want to, a small credit to @thenavidm.

Question 10

What sizes can I make?

Accepted Answer

You can make 8 sizes: 4:5 at 1080 × 1350 for Instagram and 1200 × 1500 for LinkedIn, tall 3:4 for Instagram's grid, 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, 1.91:1 for link previews and 2:3 for Pinterest, as PNG, JPG or WebP, and all of them at once as a zip.

Question 11

What is Instagram's 3:4 size?

Accepted Answer

Instagram's 3:4 size is 1080 × 1440 pixels. Since January 2025 the profile grid shows posts as 3:4 tiles, so a 3:4 image shows whole there, while a 4:5 one loses a sliver on each side. Post 3:4 from the Instagram app: Meta's API, which scheduling tools use, takes 4:5 to 1.91:1 only.

Question 12

Can I make an animated carousel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for Instagram: Download animated slides gives 1 MP4 per slide, each typing its own words, and an Instagram carousel mixes photos and videos. A LinkedIn carousel is a PDF, which can't move.

Question 13

What is the animated HTML for?

Accepted Answer

The animated HTML is your card or carousel as a web page that moves, for your website, a link or a talk. No platform takes HTML as a post, so post the images, the PDF or the video.

Question 14

Can I make a video of my post?

Accepted Answer

Yes, press Download typing video for an MP4 of the card with your words typing out and a blinking cursor, in any size. It's made in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, and works as a Reel, a Story or a video post.

Question 15

Why are some kinds and sizes grayed out?

Accepted Answer

A kind or size is grayed out when it won't read well: a headline or quote for a long post, a size too small for the text, a list without points, or a thread with 1 post. Press it to see why, then shorten the text or pick another.

Question 16

X's public embed feed, which the tool reads, gives likes and replies but not reposts. Type the repost count in, or leave it off.

Question 18

Where does the profile photo come from?

Accepted Answer

The profile photo comes from the post you paste, when the platform shares it. You can replace it with your own, zoom it and move it inside a round or rounded frame.

Question 19

Can I put my words on a photo or a video?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Press Photos and videos to search free photos from Pexels, Unsplash and Pixabay and free videos from Pexels, Coverr and Pixabay, or upload your own. Your words sit on it under a dark or a light veil, and Pick the best for me chooses the one with the calmest space behind the text.
