Question 1

What is a Facebook private video downloader?

Accepted Answer

A Facebook private video downloader is a tool that saves a Facebook video that isn't public, like one shared with friends or in a private group, as a file on your device. This one reads the video from the page source you paste, in your browser.

Question 2

How do I download a private Facebook video?

Accepted Answer

To download a private Facebook video, open it on a computer while you're signed in, press Ctrl+U on Windows or Option+Cmd+U on a Mac, copy all of the page source, and paste it into the tool.

Question 3

Is my page source uploaded anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No, the page source is read in your browser tab and never sent anywhere. Your browser then downloads the video straight from Facebook.

Question 4

Do I need to give my Facebook password?

Accepted Answer

No, the tool never asks for your Facebook login. Never give your password to any downloader.

Question 5

Can I download a video I can't watch?

Accepted Answer

No, this works only for videos your own account can already watch, because it reads the page Facebook shows you.

Question 6

Why doesn't it find the video?

Accepted Answer

Copy the page source of the video's own page, while you're signed in, not your feed. Open the video on its own by clicking its date, then copy that page's source.

Question 7

Can I download private Facebook videos on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Phones don't show a page's source, so this works on a computer. Once the MP4 is saved, send it to your phone with AirDrop, Nearby Share or a cloud folder.

Question 8

What quality are the downloads?

Accepted Answer

You get every quality Facebook has for the video, HD first, usually 720p, and a smaller SD file.

Question 9

Can I download many at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can download many at once: press Paste many links at once, paste up to 10 links, 1 per line, and press Download all (ZIP). The best file of each link comes in 1 ZIP, made in your browser.

Question 10

Can I get the transcript of the video?

Accepted Answer

Yes, press Get the transcript under the video. On YouTube it reads the video's own captions; everywhere else, AI writes down the speech, for videos up to 5 minutes. Copy it, or download it as a .txt or .srt file.

Question 11

Is the Facebook private video downloader free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Facebook private video downloader is free, with no sign-up, no ads and no watermark.
