Question 1

What is a Twitter GIF downloader?

Accepted Answer

A Twitter GIF downloader is a tool that saves a GIF from a post on X, formerly Twitter, as a file on your device. This one gives you both the MP4 X keeps and a looping .gif made in your browser.

Question 2

How do I download a GIF from Twitter?

Accepted Answer

To download a GIF from Twitter (X), tap Share on the post, then Copy link. Paste the link into the Twitter GIF downloader, press Get GIF, then press Save as GIF.

Question 3

Why do Twitter GIFs download as MP4?

Accepted Answer

Twitter GIFs download as MP4 because X turns every GIF into a short MP4 video that loops, which is far smaller than a GIF. The Twitter GIF downloader gives you that MP4 and makes a .gif from it too.

Question 4

Can I save a Twitter GIF as a .gif file?

Accepted Answer

Yes, press Save as GIF and the Twitter GIF downloader makes a looping .gif from X's MP4, right in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

Question 5

How big is the GIF?

Accepted Answer

The GIF is up to 480 pixels wide, at 12 frames a second, from the first 30 seconds of the video. A GIF has only 256 colors per frame, so it's bigger than the MP4.

Question 6

Can I download Twitter GIFs on my iPhone?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can download Twitter GIFs on an iPhone: press Save as GIF and it saves to the Files app. To put it in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Image.

Question 7

Is anything uploaded when I make a GIF?

Accepted Answer

No, nothing is uploaded: the MP4 downloads straight from X to your browser, and the GIF is made right there. My site reads only X's public embed data to find the file.

Question 8

Do I need an X account to download GIFs?

Accepted Answer

No, you don't need an X account to download GIFs with this tool. It reads public posts the way anyone can see them without signing in.

Question 9

Can I download many at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can download many at once: press Paste many links at once, paste up to 10 links, 1 per line, and press Download all (ZIP). The best file of each link comes in 1 ZIP, made in your browser.

Question 10

Can I get the transcript of the video?

Accepted Answer

Yes, press Get the transcript under the video. On YouTube it reads the video's own captions; everywhere else, AI writes down the speech, for videos up to 5 minutes. Copy it, or download it as a .txt or .srt file.

Question 11

Is the Twitter GIF downloader free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Twitter GIF downloader is free, with no sign-up, no ads and no watermark. To keep it free for everyone, each person can read 30 posts every 10 minutes.

Question 12

Who is the Twitter GIF downloader for?

Accepted Answer

The Twitter GIF downloader is for anyone who wants a GIF from X for a chat, a slide or an email, and for creators who want their own GIFs back as files.

Question 13

What other free tools can I use for X?
