This is my guide to the best place to sell digital products, from ebooks, templates and courses to memberships and coaching. Where you sell decides how much of each sale you keep, who brings the buyers, and whether the customers are yours.

I've sold digital products for over a decade: courses, virtual summits and memberships. I processed millions of dollars through ThriveCart, and today I sell through Creator Store, a store I built myself.

I went back through every one this week, and wrote up what each does well, where it falls short, and what it really costs.

In this guide, I'll show you:

  • All 33 places to sell digital products I reviewed, each with who it's for, key features, pros, cons and pricing
  • What digital products you can sell
  • How to choose where to sell, and the kinds of places there are
  • The best free places to sell digital products
  • Why sell digital products, and how to start
  • What I use today

Every price here is from each place's own pages, read in late September and early October 2026.

Key takeaways

I reviewed 33 places to sell digital products, each with who it's for, pros, cons and pricing.
Whop is my pick overall: no monthly fee, 2.7% + $0.30 a sale, and payments from 195 countries.
For a checkout that sells more per order, ThriveCart takes 0% of your sales, and for courses and coaching, Kajabi.
To pay nothing until you sell, Whop, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Payhip's free plan, Ko-fi and Patreon take a share of each sale instead.
Marketplaces like Etsy, Creative Market, Amazon KDP and Udemy bring their own buyers, but keep more of each sale and own the customer.
Eden is the new one to watch: one place to save ideas, create your content and sell courses, coaching and downloads.

1. Whop

The best place to sell digital products overall

Whop's page for sellers: your community runs on Whop

Whop is where you sell digital products, memberships, courses, communities and services, with the checkout and payouts built in. It says sellers earned over $300 million on Whop last month.

There's no setup fee and no monthly cost. Whop charges 2.7% + $0.30 for each successful card payment, plus 1.5% for international cards and 1% if a currency is converted.

The extras are optional: 0.8% for payment orchestration, 0.5% for billing and 2% for tax handling. With all of them on and tax collected, a sale costs 6% + $0.30.

It also runs its own MCP server, so AI agents like Claude can work with your store, and a marketplace on whop.com where buyers can find your products.

Pricing

Whop has no plan to pay for. These are its fees, from its fee docs as read on October 3, 2026:

  • Card payments – 2.7% + $0.30, plus 1.5% for international cards and 1% for currency conversion.
