Here's what a Twitter photo downloader is, the sizes X keeps, and how to use it.
What is a Twitter photo downloader?
A Twitter photo downloader is a tool that saves the photos from a post on X, formerly Twitter, as image files on your device.
X shows a smaller copy of each photo in its app. This one saves the original, as big as it was uploaded.
How to download photos from X
Links from x.com and twitter.com both work.
The original size
X keeps every photo in several sizes and shows a smaller one in its feed. The tool saves the original, the size it was uploaded at.
On a post with 4 photos I checked on September 26, 2026, each original was 5,568 × 3,712 pixels. The tool shows each photo's size before you save it.
| File | What it is |
|---|---|
| Each photo at its original size, as X stores it | |
| Every photo of the post, in its order, in 1 file |
Why some photos won't download
- The account is protected. Only its approved followers see its posts.
- The post was deleted, or it's limited in your country.
- X didn't answer. Try again in a minute.
Downloading on iPhone and Android
On a phone, press Download and the photo saves to your downloads: the Files app on an iPhone, the Downloads folder on Android.
Where your phone supports it, tap Share or save once to get the file, then again to open the share sheet. An iPhone offers Save Image there, which puts it in Photos.
Your own photos, and someone else's
A photo belongs to the person who took it. Save your own freely. Before you reuse someone else's, ask them, and credit them when you do.
