Question 1

What is a Pinterest character counter?

Accepted Answer

A Pinterest character counter is a tool that counts your Pin title against Pinterest's 100-character limit and your description against 800, with a switch between the two.

Pinterest counts the characters you see, so an emoji is 1.

The Pinterest title limit is 100 characters, per Pinterest's Pin specs. Depending on the device, only the first 40 may show in the feed.

Question 3

Accepted Answer

The Pinterest description limit is 800 characters, per the Pin specs. Pinterest's bulk upload page lists 500, so keep to 500 for bulk uploads.

Question 4

Does the Pin description show in the feed?

Accepted Answer

No, the Pin description doesn't show in the feed: per the Pin specs, descriptions don't appear in the home feed or search feed.

Question 5

How do I switch between title and description?

Accepted Answer

To switch between title and description, use the Title and Description switch next to the count on the Pinterest tab.

Question 6

Accepted Answer

No, nothing you type leaves your browser: the counting runs on your device, and your draft is kept in this browser only.

Question 7
