How to download Instagram Reels
Links to Reels (/reel/…), posts (/p/…) and videos (/tv/…) all work, with or without the username in them.
Download from a username
Type a username, like @instagram, and press Get video.
You'll see the account's latest 6 posts. Tap 1 to open it, then save it.
Why only 6? That's all Instagram shows to anyone who isn't signed in, and this tool never signs in. For an older post, paste its link instead.
That's handy when you don't have the link, or when you want your own latest Reel fast.
What quality you get
Instagram shares each Reel as 1 MP4 file. On the public Reels I checked on September 26, 2026, that file was 720p, with the sound in AAC.

No downloader can give you more than Instagram sends. A page that promises 4K Reels is promising a file Instagram doesn't hand out.
Save a Reel's sound
Press MP3 or M4A and the Reel's sound saves on its own.
It's taken out in your browser: the M4A is the sound exactly as the Reel has it, and the MP3 plays on anything. My Instagram audio downloader does only that.
Downloading on iPhone and Android
On a phone, press Download and the Reel saves to your downloads: the Files app on an iPhone, the Downloads folder on Android.
Where your phone supports it, a Share or save button shows too. Tap it once to get the file, then again to open the share sheet, where an iPhone offers Save Video.
Why some Reels won't download
- The account is private. Only its followers see its posts, so the tool can't read them.
- It's a Story or a highlight. Instagram shows those only to signed-in accounts, and this tool never signs in.
- The Reel was removed. A link to a deleted post leads nowhere.
- Instagram didn't answer. Try again in a minute.

A Reel belongs to the person who posted it.
Save your own freely: to post it on TikTok or YouTube Shorts, to edit it again, or to keep a copy. Before you reuse someone else's, ask them, and credit them when you do.
