I've built sales funnels for over a decade, for my courses, my virtual summits and my email list. Over the years I paid for ClickFunnels, Kartra and Thrive Suite, and sold through ThriveCart, where I processed millions of dollars.

Today I build my own pages, funnels and checkouts with Next.js on Vercel and AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex. That isn't for everyone, so this guide covers that way and the tools that do it for you.

I went through each one's own pricing and feature pages, and wrote up what it does well, where it falls short, and what it really costs.

In this guide, I'll show you:

  • All 19 sales funnel tools I reviewed, each with who it's for, key features, pros, cons and pricing
  • What sales funnel software is, and the kinds there are
  • What to look for before you pick one
  • The best free sales funnel software
  • What I use today

Every price here is from the tool's own pages, read in late September and early October 2026.

1. HighLevel

HighLevel's home page: the AI-powered business operating system

HighLevel is an all-in-one platform for marketing and selling: funnels, websites and landing pages, plus a CRM, email and SMS, calendars, payments, and courses and communities.

Its AI builds funnels too. You describe the page you need, and HighLevel's AI website and sales funnel builder generates it. Its AI also writes web pages, emails and social posts in your brand voice.

It's the one I'd pick if I weren't building my own. It does what ClickFunnels does, and adds a CRM, SMS and bookings, with no cap on contacts.

Every plan has unlimited contacts and unlimited users, and HighLevel takes no cut of your sales. Payments go through Stripe, PayPal, NMI and others.

What you pay on top is usage: phone numbers, SMS, emails and AI are charged as you use them.

Who is HighLevel for?

HighLevel is for businesses and agencies that want their funnels, CRM, email, SMS and bookings in one account, with no cap on contacts.

Key features

  • Funnels, websites and landing pages on your own domains
  • An AI builder that generates pages from a description
  • One-click upsell funnels and webinar funnels
  • A CRM with unlimited contacts and users
  • Email and SMS marketing
  • Calendars and bookings
  • Payments through Stripe, PayPal, NMI and others
  • Courses and communities for your members

Pros

  • Unlimited contacts and users on every plan
  • Builds funnels with AI from a description
  • Replaces your CRM, funnels, email, scheduler and SMS tools
  • A 14-day free trial, month to month with no long-term contract

Cons

  • Starts at $97 a month
  • Phone, SMS, email and AI are charged by use, on top of the plan
  • Its plans are built around sub-accounts, the way an agency works

Pricing

HighLevel has three plans, each with a 14-day free trial, from its pricing page as read on October 3, 2026:

  • Starter – $97 a month, or $970 a year, with three sub-accounts.
  • Unlimited – $297 a month, or $2,970 a year, with unlimited sub-accounts.
  • Agency Pro – $497 a month, or $4,970 a year, with SaaS mode, to sell HighLevel as your own software.

Its AI Employee add-on is $50 or $97 a month per sub-account.

2. Next.js on Vercel

Vercel's home page: agentic infrastructure

This is how I build my own sales funnels, pages and checkouts today: in Next.js, hosted on Vercel, and written with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex.

Next.js is a free, open-source web framework from Vercel. Vercel puts what you build on its global network, with HTTPS and a preview link for every change.

You don't have to be a developer to start. You describe the page you want, and the AI coding tool writes it, runs it and changes what you point out.

Nothing caps my pages or contacts, and every page looks the way I want. But it takes longer to set up than a builder, so it isn't for everyone.

I'm working on templates of my own, so you can start from what I use.

Who is Next.js on Vercel for?

It's for creators and founders who want their sales funnels, pages and checkouts to look exactly the way they want, with no builder's limits, and who don't mind learning as they go.

Key features

  • Pages built to your own design, with no template or page limits
  • AI coding tools that write the code: Claude Code with Claude Pro, and Codex with ChatGPT Plus
  • Next.js, free and open source
  • Vercel's global network, with HTTPS on every plan
  • A preview link for every change before it goes live
  • A free first-year domain on Vercel Pro, on endings like .app and .site

Pros

  • No caps on pages, contacts or design
  • The code is yours, and Next.js runs on other hosts too
  • Vercel's Hobby plan is free for personal projects
  • Any email tool or checkout works with it

Cons

  • Slower to set up than a builder
  • You look after the code, with your AI tool's help
  • Hobby is for non-commercial use, so a business needs Pro, at $20 a month
  • Forms, email and a checkout are yours to connect

Pricing

Here's what it costs, from Vercel's, Claude's and ChatGPT's pricing pages as read on October 3, 2026:

  • Next.js – free and open source.
  • Vercel Hobby – free, for personal, non-commercial projects.
  • Vercel Pro – $20 a month, with $20 of usage included and a 14-day free trial. Each extra developer seat is $20 a month.
  • Claude Pro, with Claude Code – $17 a month billed yearly, or $20 monthly.
  • ChatGPT Plus, with Codex – $20 a month. ChatGPT's free plan has limited Codex access.

3. ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels' home page: you're one funnel away from your first $10k month

ClickFunnels is the classic funnel builder: sales pages and checkouts with one-click upsells and order bumps, plus email, a CRM and courses, from the company Russell Brunson co-founded.

I used ClickFunnels for many years, and it was my top pick in the first version of this guide.

Every plan has unlimited visitors, and unlimited funnels for now, which ClickFunnels marks as a limited-time offer. Its plans grow by courses, contacts and team members.

It takes no fee on your sales beyond Stripe's.

If you want something like it for less, or with more in one place, see my guide to the best ClickFunnels alternatives.

ThriveCart's home page: the creator stack used by 75,000+ solopreneurs, coursemakers and community builders

ThriveCart is a checkout platform: cart and checkout pages with order bumps, one-click upsells, subscriptions and an affiliate center, plus ThriveCart Academy for your courses and a community.

It takes 0% of your sales on every plan, with payments through your own Stripe, PayPal or Authorize.Net. ThriveCart says sellers have processed over $8 billion through it.

I'm one of them. I processed millions of dollars through ThriveCart, selling my courses and virtual summits.

It's the selling end of a funnel: pair it with your pages and your email tool, and it handles the order and everything after it.

Who is ThriveCart for?

ThriveCart is for creators and course sellers who want a checkout that sells more per order, without a big monthly plan.

Kajabi's home page: the all-in-one platform that turns what you know into what you earn

Kajabi is an all-in-one platform for courses, coaching, memberships and a community, with your website, email, funnels and checkout built in.

It takes no cut of your sales on any plan. Kajabi Payments charges card fees, which differ by country.

By Kajabi's own count, experts on it have earned over $12 billion since 2010.

It costs more than most funnel builders, from $179 a month, but it also replaces your course platform, your email tool and your website.

Its free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers, with unlimited landing pages, forms and email broadcasts, and you can sell digital products and subscriptions on it.

Kit isn't a full funnel builder like ClickFunnels. Its strength is the email part of a funnel: your list, the sequences you send it and the automations around them.

Kit is for creators who build their business on an email list, and sell digital products and newsletters to it.

What is sales funnel software?

A sales funnel is the path from a stranger to a buyer: a page that gets their email, the emails that follow, a sales page, a checkout, and the upsells after it.

Sales funnel software builds that path for you. An all-in-one tool does every step, and the rest do one part of it well, like the checkout, the pages or the emails.

What to look for in sales funnel software

Five things decide most of it:

  1. What you sell – courses and coaching suit Kajabi or Kartra, digital products and subscriptions suit a checkout like ThriveCart, SamCart or PayKickstart, and a service business suits HighLevel.
  2. The checkout – order bumps and one-click upsells raise what each buyer spends. ThriveCart, ClickFunnels and PayKickstart have them on every plan, and SamCart from Pro.
  3. Email and a CRM – HighLevel, ClickFunnels, Kajabi, Kartra, Systeme.io and GetResponse send your emails too. A checkout needs an email tool next to it.
  4. What it takes from each sale – HighLevel, ClickFunnels, ThriveCart, Kajabi, Systeme.io and SamCart take no cut. Kartra's first plan keeps 5%, and PayKickstart's price goes by your revenue.
  5. Who owns it – a hosted platform runs everything for you. A WordPress plugin, or pages you build yourself, run on a site you own.

They come in six kinds:

All-in-one platforms

Funnels, email, a CRM and a checkout under one plan, like HighLevel, ClickFunnels, Kajabi, Kartra and Systeme.io.

Build your own

Your own pages, funnels and checkouts, written with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex, on Vercel.

Checkout platforms

Checkouts with order bumps and upsells, like ThriveCart, SamCart and PayKickstart.

Email platforms with funnels

Your list first, with pages and products, like Kit and GetResponse.

Landing page builders

The pages at the top of a funnel, like Leadpages, Unbounce, Instapage and Landingi.

WordPress plugins

Funnels and checkouts on your own site, like FunnelKit, SureCart, FluentCart and Thrive Architect.

The best free sales funnel software

Here's where you can start without paying:

  • Systeme.io – a free plan with three funnels, unlimited emails and 2,000 contacts.
  • Kit – free for up to 10,000 subscribers, with unlimited landing pages and forms.
  • SureCart – a free plan with order bumps and one-click upsells, for a 2.9% fee on sales.
  • FluentCart – a free version for WordPress, with no transaction fees.

What I use

I build my own pages, funnels and checkouts now, the way I describe in Next.js on Vercel above, and I sell through my own checkout, Creator Store.

If you'd rather not build your own, HighLevel is the one I'd pick. And I'm working on templates of my own, so you can start from what I use.

FAQs about sales funnel software

Here are answers to the questions people ask most about sales funnel software.

Sales funnel software builds the path from a visitor to a buyer: the pages, the checkout, the upsells and the emails that follow.

All-in-one tools like HighLevel and ClickFunnels do every step, and checkouts like ThriveCart do the selling part.

HighLevel is my pick, with an AI funnel builder, a CRM, email, SMS and payments, and unlimited contacts, from $97 a month.

For a classic funnel builder, I'd pick ClickFunnels, and for the checkout, ThriveCart.

Systeme.io has a free plan, and its paid plans start at $17 a month.

ThriveCart starts at $47 a month, and Kartra at $59, against ClickFunnels' $97.

It is if you want funnels, upsells, email and courses in one place, from $97 a month.

For the same price, HighLevel adds a CRM, SMS, calendars and unlimited contacts.

A funnel builder makes the pages before the sale, like the opt-in and the sales page, and often sends the emails.

A checkout like ThriveCart, SamCart or PayKickstart takes the payment and adds order bumps and upsells.

SureCart and FluentCart are WordPress checkouts with order bumps and upsells, and FunnelKit adds funnels to a WooCommerce store.

Thrive Architect builds the pages, and pairs with a checkout like ThriveCart or SureCart.

Yes, HighLevel's AI website and funnel builder generates pages from a description.

I build mine with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex, and host them on Vercel.

HighLevel, ClickFunnels, ThriveCart, Kajabi, Systeme.io and SamCart take no cut of your sales.

Kartra's Essentials plan keeps 5%, and PayKickstart's price goes by your monthly revenue.

Start from the offer and work back: what you sell, the page that sells it, and what brings someone to that page.

A simple funnel is a free lead magnet, a few emails, a sales page and a checkout with one upsell.

I build my own with Next.js on Vercel and AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex.

Before that, I used ClickFunnels for years and sold through ThriveCart, and today I'd pick HighLevel if I weren't building my own.

Final thoughts on sales funnel software

There are a lot of funnel tools out there, so it comes down to what you sell, how much you want in one place, and your budget.
