This free viral hook generator writes 10 hooks for any topic, each in the shape of a real post that did 3 times its creator's usual likes or better.

You pick the platform, the style and the tone, and every hook comes with the real post it's shaped like.

I read 143,126 posts from 1,871 accounts to find which openings win on each platform. Here's what I found, and how the generator writes from it.

Key takeaways

This free viral hook generator writes 10 hooks for 10 platforms, each shaped like a real post that beat its creator's usual.
Result hooks with a real number did better on X, Threads, Instagram, TikTok and Bluesky.
Question hooks showed up less often among the winners on 6 of 7 platforms.
A number you didn't give shows as [number], so a hook never claims a result you don't have.

What is a viral hook generator?

A viral hook generator is a tool that writes the first line of a social media post, the line that decides whether anyone reads the rest.

This one writes from real posts. Each hook takes the shape of one that did 3 times its creator's usual likes or better, and shows it to you.

Write hooks for your post0/4

The generator has 3 tabs, and only Write hooks uses AI.

Real hooks shows real posts from creators in my creator directory, the biggest outliers first. Sort by most recent to see everything they've posted lately.

Templates has 1,673 fill-in hooks, kept on their own tab because no real post is behind them. Your topic fills their [topic] and [X] in your browser.

What makes a hook work, platform by platform

I compared each post with its own creator's usual likes, so a big account never wins for being big. A post that did 3 times its creator's usual or better counts as a winner.

Then I sorted every first line into a style and checked which styles showed up more often among the winners:

X
Do more of
Results with a number (1.36×), stories (1.26×)
Do less of
Questions (0.65×)
Threads
Do more of
Stories (1.39×), results (1.34×)
Do less of
Questions (0.68×)
Instagram

TikTok

Do less of
Questions (0.77×)
Substack Notes
Do more of
Bold claims (2.12×), lists (1.46×)
Do less of
Results (0.93×)

A result hook on X at 1.36× means result hooks showed up 36% more often among the winners than among all posts.

Question hooks did worse on every platform here except Substack Notes. The generator still writes them when you ask, and says so beside the style.

When you leave the style to the data, the generator picks the styles that won on your platform.

The hooks that did best

These are real first lines from creators in my creator directory, with their likes and how far each beat that creator's usual:

Each one names something specific in the first line: a count, a moment, a promise. The generator copies that shape, never the words.

An example

I gave it my own topic, building free tools for navid.me, and one real detail: 582 free tools, all free with no signup. Here are 4 of the 10 hooks it wrote for LinkedIn, as they came:

My hookShaped like

It used my 582 because I gave it. A number I didn't give would show as [number].

Buffer has a free hook generator too. I gave both the same topic on October 1, 2026:

Both have 9 hook styles and 6 tones, and both write the post too when you ask.

Buffer's 3 hooks came in 4.6 seconds, each with a line on why it works. One used an em dash and a "Stop thinking X" opening, and one promised to "boost user engagement instantly", a result my topic never claimed.

How it keeps your hooks true

A hook that claims a result you don't have is a hook you can't post. So every run goes through 3 steps:

  • It writes only from your topic and the details you give
  • Code turns any number you didn't give into [number], and takes out emoji and dashes
  • A second AI reads your details and every hook, and turns any story or result you didn't give into [your story] or [result]

Read each hook once, fill in the brackets, and it's yours to post.

Who is the viral hook generator for?

It's for anyone who writes posts and wants more people to read them:

Creators use it to start a week of posts with 10 openings to pick from.

Write hooks with your own AI

Under the generator, the same instructions, your topic and the real hooks go to Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity or Gemini in one click.

It's the same method, free, with no limit.

FAQs about viral hooks

Questions about writing viral hooks? Here's what to know.

A viral hook generator writes the first line of a social media post, the line that decides whether anyone reads on.

This one shapes each hook like a real post that did 3 times its creator's usual likes or better.

In my data, hooks with a real result and its number did better on X, Threads, Instagram, TikTok and Bluesky.

Stories did better on X and Threads, and how-tos and lists on TikTok.

Question hooks showed up less often among the winners on 6 of 7 platforms I measured.

Substack Notes was the one exception, so the generator writes them only when you pick Question.

The generator uses only the numbers you give it.

Any other number shows as [number], so you can fill in your own and every hook stays true.

They're first lines of public posts by creators in my creator directory, on X, LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Substack Notes.

Each one did 3 times its creator's usual likes or better, and links to the post.

LinkedIn, X, Threads, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Substack Notes, Bluesky and Facebook.

For YouTube and Shorts, it writes from TikTok and Instagram video hooks, the closest real ones I have.

Yes, with no account and no credit card.

When the writer is busy, the same instructions and real hooks go to your own AI in one click, also free.

I did.
