Key takeaways
What is a Nomad Hotel Finder?
A nomad hotel finder is a hotel search that also shows what matters for living in a place: what a night costs there, the weather and how fast the internet is.
This one puts both side by side. The map finds places to stay for your dates, and the cards compare 185 places before you pick one.
How the Nomad Hotel Finder works
Search any city, or pick one of the nomad places below the map.
Where I have hotels for the place, they come first, best rated first. Filter them by stars, rating and amenities like a pool or free Wi-Fi.
Open a hotel for its rating on each site, its photos, what guests like and complain about, its amenities, what's nearby and its details. Book this hotel takes you to it on the booking site, for your dates.
How the Navid.me score works
Each hotel gets a Navid.me score from 0 to 10, from 3 parts:
- Ratings – the hotel's rating on Google, Tripadvisor, Trip.com and the other sites that list it, each compared with the ratings that site gives every hotel in the finder
- Photos – a rating of every photo of the hotel, for how well they show the rooms and the place
- Reviews – a rating of what its reviews praise and complain about, and how many reviews back it up
Hotel sites rate most hotels near the top of their scale. So each site's rating is compared with the ratings that site gives every hotel in the finder.
A typical hotel lands near 5, and only a rare one reaches 10.
A rating from a few reviews counts for less. It leans toward a typical hotel's 5 until hundreds of reviews back it up, so 24 five-star reviews don't outrank 900 at 4.6.
The pop-up also shows the consensus, how closely the sites agree about a hotel.
The map shows hotels, apartments and other rentals there, from Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo and more, through Stay22. Pick your dates, and each stay shows its price for those nights.
Pick a stay on the map to see it and book on the seller's own site.
How the places compare
Each place has its own card: hover it for its video and how it scores on cost, internet, weather and safety.
A card's stay cost is the median night in a whole place on Airbnb, so it's a guide to what staying there costs, not a quote. The map has the real price for your dates.
Sort the places by the lowest stay cost or the fastest internet, and pick the regions you'd go to.
Where the numbers come from
Every number in the finder has a source:
- Hotel ratings – each hotel's Google page, with its Google rating and the scores it lists from Tripadvisor, Trip.com and other sites
- What guests like and complain about – the topics on each hotel's Google page, with how many reviews mention each and how many of those are unfavorable
- Hotel details – each hotel's Google page, for its stars, address, amenities and check-in times
- Price a night – the lowest price Google listed for each hotel when it was last checked
- What's nearby – OpenStreetMap, for the nearest metro, coworking space, supermarket and park, and the cafes around
- Places to stay and prices – Stay22's map, with today's prices from Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo and its other partners
- Stay cost – the median night in a whole place on Airbnb, from Inside Airbnb's data
- Weather – NOAA's monthly station summaries for the nearest station, averaged over many years
- Internet – the typical download speed in M-Lab's open speed tests over the last 12 months
The map's links are affiliate links, so I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
