Where you want the name
Instagram, Threads, X, Twitch and Reddit don't show it to a checker, so their chip links to the profile page. If the page is missing, the name is free.
Get your names
A podcast name is the first thing a listener sees in Apple Podcasts or Spotify, and the thing they type to find you again.
This free podcast name generator writes show names for your topic, looks each one up on Apple Podcasts, and checks the matching .com and social handles.
Every name gets a score out of 100, so the best ones come first.
Key takeaways
What is a podcast name generator?
A podcast name generator is a tool that writes show name ideas from your topic and your angle.
Mine goes further than a list. It checks each name against the shows already on Apple Podcasts, then checks the .com and handles you'd want to match it.
How to use the podcast name generator

In an earlier run it suggested Money Maze. The Apple Podcasts check found a show called The Money Maze: Investing in South Africa, so the chip linked to it and I'd skip that name.
Pressing More names added 15 new ones, none a repeat of the first list.
What Apple says about podcast names
Apple Podcasts search reads your show's title first, so its own advice for creators is about the name:
Be distinctive and avoid using names that are too generic or too similar to existing shows.
Avoid using emojis and repeated episode titles.
That's why each name here is looked up on Apple Podcasts. A name another show already uses splits your listeners between 2 shows.
What makes a good podcast name
A good podcast name does 3 things at once:
- Says the topic – a listener scrolling a category knows what it's about.
- Sounds right said out loud – people recommend podcasts by voice.
- Stays short – it fits on a phone's lock screen and on the artwork.
If you're the draw, like a known coach, put your name in it. If the topic is the draw, lead with the topic.
Should your podcast name match your domain?
It helps when it does. A listener who hears the name can type it as a website and land on your show page.
So each name comes with its .com checked. If the .com is taken, the domain availability checker shows other endings, or the domain name generator finds a new one.
How the score works
Every name gets a score out of 100, and you see each part of it. The parts weigh differently for a personal brand, a business and a creator:

A name that breaks a platform's rules is capped at 40, since you can't register it there. A platform I can't check counts as half free until you open its chip and see.
After you pick a name
Claim the handles the same day, before someone else does. The username checker checks one name on every platform at once.
Then get your feed ready. My podcast RSS feed validator checks it against what Apple and Spotify need.
Who is the podcast name generator for?
It's for anyone starting or renaming a show:
- Podcast RSS feed validator – new podcasters getting the feed ready
- Podcast sponsorship calculator – hosts pricing their first sponsor
- Username checker – anyone claiming the show's handles
Pick the name first, then the feed, the artwork and the handles follow.
