These are estimates from your numbers, not YouTube's. Real earnings move with where viewers live, the season, advertiser demand and YouTube Premium. Views from a link are the public counts of a channel's latest uploads.

Paste a channel or a Short and it reads the real views of its latest Shorts. Add your Shorts RPM and you get the money a day, a month and a year.

Here's how YouTube pays for Shorts, why a Short earns less than a long video, and what changes on February 1, 2027.

What is a YouTube Shorts money calculator?

A YouTube Shorts money calculator is a tool that estimates what YouTube Shorts views earn, by multiplying the views by a Shorts RPM.

A Shorts RPM is what a creator keeps per 1,000 Shorts views, after YouTube's share and the music costs.

How YouTube pays for Shorts

Shorts don't earn from their own ads. YouTube pools the money from ads between Shorts and shares it out, in 4 steps from its Shorts monetization policies (read September 26, 2026):

How Shorts revenue is shared0/4

So a Short without music keeps more, and the pool depends on every monetizing creator's views, not only yours.

What changes on February 1, 2027

From February 1, 2027, a creator needs 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days to earn from the Shorts pool that month, per YouTube's 2027 update.

Falling short doesn't remove a channel from the YouTube Partner Program. It only pauses that month's Shorts pool earnings; long video earnings carry on.

Shorts or long videos?

Shorts usually earn less per view, since their revenue is pooled and shared across creators. Many creators use Shorts to find viewers and long videos to earn from them.

For both formats side by side, use the YouTube money calculator: paste a channel and it splits Shorts from long videos.

Who is the YouTube Shorts money calculator for?

It's for creators who post Shorts:

Long videos earn from ads on their own watch page, where the creator keeps 55%.
