The Spotify podcast charts are Spotify's own rankings of the most popular podcasts and episodes on Spotify, in each of 26 countries.

What each chart counts is from Spotify's newsroom, updated April 17, 2025. How many shows each holds was read from Spotify's chart data on September 27, 2026.
How Spotify ranks podcasts
Since April 17, 2025, Spotify says "weekly unique audience will now determine Top Podcasts". That's how many different people listened in the past week.
Top Episodes is "determined exclusively by the number of unique listeners on that day". And Trending is "determined by a combination of growth-indicating factors".
So a weekly show with a big audience holds its place on Top Podcasts, while one episode with a big day can top Top Episodes.
Spotify's genre charts: seven countries only
Spotify publishes genre charts in 7 of its 26 countries: the US, the UK, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Mexico and Sweden. Each holds 50 shows.
In the other 19 countries there's Top podcasts, Top episodes and Trending, and no genres. The tool shows only the charts Spotify publishes for the country you pick.
Spotify has 17 genres. It has no Government or Kids & Family chart, which Apple has.
Spotify's own moves
Each place on a Spotify chart carries Spotify's own move since its last chart: up, down, the same or new.
This tool shows those from day one. And because it keeps every chart from September 27, 2026 on, it adds how many places a show moved, its days on the chart and its best place.

On September 27, 2026, The Joe Rogan Experience was #1 on Spotify in the US, #5 on Apple Podcasts and #8 on YouTube. The Daily was #1 on Apple and #6 on Spotify.

How to climb Spotify's charts
Spotify counts different people listening each week. So the goal is a steady, growing weekly audience, not a spike:
- Publish on a schedule – a weekly show gives people a reason to come back each week.
- Ask for the follow – a follower gets each new episode in their Spotify feed.
- Aim for a genre chart first – 50 places in seven countries, far easier than the top 200.
