A public video can be read from its link. A private one can't, because Facebook shows it only to signed-in people allowed to see it. So this one reads the page you already see.
How to download a private Facebook video
Use the video's own page, the one you get when you click the video's date or open it on its own, not your feed.
Why the page source?
When you watch a video on Facebook, the page your browser gets holds the video's file addresses. The page source is that page, as text.
The tool reads those addresses in your browser, then your browser downloads the video straight from Facebook. Nothing passes through my site.
