For a video, the tool takes the sound out of the video itself, so it's exactly as long as the video. TikTok's own sound file can be the full song: on a video I checked on September 26, 2026, it was 6 minutes 24 seconds long, for an 88-second video.
A photo post has no video, so its sound is TikTok's own file, which is often the full song.
Why some sounds won't download
