This free podcast summarizer gives you the key points of a podcast episode from Spotify, Apple Podcasts or the show's feed.

Paste the episode's link and it reads the full episode, then writes a short summary with the time next to every point. Press a time and the episode plays from there.

Here's how to summarize a podcast, where the transcript comes from, and what to do with the summary.

What is a podcast summarizer?

A podcast summarizer is a tool that turns an episode into a short summary: the main idea, and the points worth knowing, each with the time it's said.

This one also gives you chapters for your show notes, and the full transcript with who said what, when the show publishes it.

How to summarize a podcast episode

Summarize a podcast episode0/4

A link to the show instead of an episode summarizes its newest episode.

LinkWhat it reads
SpotifyAn episode link, found in the show's public feed
Apple PodcastsAn episode link, or a show link for its newest episode
The show's feedThe feed's address, for its newest episode

Shows that live only on Spotify have no public feed, so there's nothing to read.

Where the transcript comes from

Many shows publish a transcript of every episode in their feed. When the episode has one, the summarizer reads it, often with each speaker's name. That's free and takes a few seconds.

When it has none, the summarizer turns the episode's sound into text, for episodes up to 30 minutes. Longer episodes without a transcript can't be read for free here, and the page tells you so.

What you get with every summary

Every summary has 4 parts, each in its own tab: a TL;DR, the key points with their times, chapters, and the full transcript.

The summary is written only from what's said in the episode. Every point carries its time, so you can hear it in the speaker's own words before you quote it.

Summarize it your way with your own AI

Want show notes, 5 X posts or a newsletter instead? Pick it from the Ask your AI to menu and press your AI. The transcript goes with the ask, in your own ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Perplexity, so it's free.

5 ways podcasters use a summary

  • Write show notes. Start from the TL;DR and the key points, then add your links.
  • Add chapters. Paste the chapters into your show notes or your YouTube description.
  • Make clips. Each key point's time is a clip to cut for Shorts, Reels or TikTok.
  • Pitch guests. Summarize a guest's last 3 interviews before you invite them.
  • Repurpose it. Turn the key points into posts and a newsletter.
