This free Apple Podcasts charts tool shows Apple's top 200 shows overall and in every genre, in 26 countries, plus the top 100 episodes.
It reads Apple's own charts every day and keeps them. So each show carries its move since the last chart, its days on the chart and its best place, which the Apple Podcasts app doesn't show.
Here's how Apple ranks podcasts, what its genre charts are, and what doesn't count.
What are the Apple Podcasts charts?
The Apple Podcasts charts are Apple's rankings of the most popular shows and episodes in each country, overall and in each of its 19 genres.
Apple says they're available in over 170 countries and regions. This tool reads 26 of them, the same 26 countries Spotify charts, so the two compare.
How Apple ranks podcasts
Apple Podcasts for Creators names three things its charts measure:
- Listening – "When listeners are engaging with episodes, it's an indicator of content popularity."
- Follows – "When listeners follow a show to receive new episodes, it's an indicator of their intent to listen."
- Completion rate – "When listeners complete episodes, it's an indicator of content quality."
And one thing it doesn't: "Although ratings, reviews, and shares also help indicate a podcast's newness, popularity, and quality, they are not factored into the algorithm that determines the rankings for Top Shows and Trending Episodes."
So a review campaign won't move your show up the chart by itself. Follows and finished episodes will.
Apple refreshes its charts throughout the day. This tool reads them once a day, at about 05:00 UTC.

Apple ranks 200 shows in each of its 19 genres, in each country:

A genre chart is where most shows get their first ranking. It's far easier to be in Business's top 200 than in the top 200 overall.
Apple files many shows under a subgenre, like Entrepreneurship under Business. Its genre charts include the subgenres' shows.
Top shows and top episodes
Top shows ranks podcasts. Top episodes ranks single episodes, 100 deep, and moves faster: a big interview can chart for a few days, then drop.
On September 27, 2026, the top episode in the US was episode 967 of The Joe Budden Podcast, "Guys Love Karaoke".
What the tool adds
The Apple Podcasts app shows today's chart only. This tool keeps each day's chart, from September 27, 2026 on, so every show carries:
- Its move – up or down since the last chart, or new.
- Days on the chart – how many days it has been on this chart.
- Its best place – the highest it has reached on this chart.
There's also a search box to find a show in a chart of 200, and the same chart in 26 countries a click apart.
Apple Podcasts vs Spotify and YouTube
Apple counts follows and finished episodes, Spotify counts weekly unique listeners, and YouTube counts watch time. So their charts differ a lot.
