How to use the best airports finder
Here's how to find an airport and read what the finder knows about it:
- Type a 3-letter code like DOH, a city or an airport's name in the search.
- Open the filters to pick regions, countries or a size: large, medium or small.
- Sort by the best (the order travelers voted), the busiest, the newest, the oldest, the highest up or the longest runway.
- Switch to the map to see the airports where they are, each pin showing its code.
- Click a card to open the airport, and share its link to send it to someone.
The stage at the top shows the best airports in the world, in your own country when the finder knows where you are, with music while you browse.
Where the data comes from
Every number comes from a public source, and you can check each one there:
- The best order – the 2026 World Airport Awards, voted by travelers.
- Airports, codes and runways – OurAirports, a public domain list kept by pilots and travelers.
- Passengers and the year opened – Wikidata, using full-year totals only, never a single month.
- Hub airlines – the airlines that name the airport as a hub on Wikidata, with each airline's own logo.
- Photos – Wikimedia Commons, each credited with its author and license.
2,988 of the 4,008 airports have a passenger count, and the rest show their other facts.
Who is the best airports finder for?
The finder is for anyone choosing where to fly through, or where to fly into:
- Digital nomads comparing the airports near the places they might move to.
- Points travelers picking the hubs of the airlines they collect miles with.
- Anyone curious about the world's biggest, newest or highest airports.
Once you know your airport, the Nomad Hotel Finder shows the best hotels near it, and the Nomad Flight Finder finds the flights.
More travel finders
The buttons above the finder switch between my travel finders, so you can plan the whole trip:
- The Nomad Hotel Finder for hotels ranked by my score.
- The Nomad Flight Finder for live fares.
- The digital nomad locations guide for the city near the airport.
The best airlines finder shows each airline's routes, fleet and safety record, and airplanes, lounges and lost luggage are coming as their own finders.
