Marriott Bonvoy status levels

Marriott Bonvoy has five elite tiers above plain membership, each reached by nights in a calendar year:

Silver Elite
Nights a year
10 nights
Top benefits
10% bonus points, priority late checkout
Gold Elite
Nights a year
25 nights
Top benefits
25% bonus points, 2 p.m. checkout, room upgrades
Platinum Elite
Nights a year
50 nights
Top benefits
50% bonus points, lounge access, 4 p.m. checkout
Titanium Elite
Nights a year
75 nights
Top benefits
75% bonus points, 48-hour guarantee
Ambassador Elite
Nights a year
100 nights and $23,000
Top benefits
A personal Ambassador, Your24

Ambassador is the only tier that asks for spend as well: at least $23,000 of qualifying spend on completed stays in the same year, and Marriott's terms leave out co-brand credit card spend.

How many nights for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum?

Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite takes 50 qualifying nights in a calendar year, Gold takes 25, and Titanium takes 75.

A Marriott Bonvoy card can shorten that. A card that adds 15 elite night credits a year leaves 35 nights to Platinum, and the US Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant includes Platinum Elite outright.

What each Marriott Bonvoy tier gives you

Each tier keeps what the one below it gives, often in a better version, and adds its own benefits on top. Here's what you get at each one, as Marriott's own benefits table lists it.

Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite: 10 nights

Silver Elite starts at 10 qualifying nights in a calendar year, and it's the first tier with elite benefits:

  • 10% bonus points on stays
  • Priority late checkout, on request
  • The Ultimate Reservation Guarantee

Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite: 25 nights

Gold Elite takes 25 nights. It raises Silver's bonus points and checkout time, and it's the first tier with room upgrades:

  • 25% bonus points on stays
  • 2 p.m. late checkout
  • A welcome gift of points
  • A room upgrade for the whole stay, to an enhanced room when available
  • Emirates Skywards miles on stays

Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite: 50 nights

Platinum Elite takes 50 nights, and it's where lounge access and suite upgrades begin:

  • 50% bonus points on stays
  • 4 p.m. late checkout
  • A welcome gift: points, breakfast or an amenity
  • Upgrades that include select suites
  • Lounge access, with breakfast there, at brands with lounges
  • Dedicated elite support around the clock
  • The Annual Choice Benefit at 50 nights
  • Priority check-in and boarding with Emirates

Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite: 75 nights

Titanium Elite takes 75 nights. It keeps everything in Platinum and adds three things:

  • 75% bonus points on stays
  • The 48-Hour Guarantee: book by 3 p.m. two days before arrival and a room is always there
  • A second Annual Choice Benefit at 75 nights

Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite: 100 nights and $23,000

Ambassador Elite takes 100 nights and $23,000 of qualifying spend in the same year. It keeps everything in Titanium and adds:

  • A personal Ambassador for all your travel
  • Your24: choose your check-in time and keep the room until the same time the day you leave
  • Ambassador Plus One: at 100 nights and $40,000 of spend, you can gift Ambassador status to someone in your household

Which nights count toward Marriott Bonvoy status

Every night of a qualifying stay counts once, whether you pay or use points: Marriott's terms count award stays as qualifying stays.

Card credits arrive once a year, and they're limited per member, so two Marriott Bonvoy cards don't add up. The calculator counts only the largest, so its answer is never too high.

Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime status

Lifetime status never expires, and it takes both nights and years:

  • Lifetime Silver Elite – 250 nights and 5 years as Silver or higher
  • Lifetime Gold Elite – 400 nights and 7 years as Gold or higher
  • Lifetime Platinum Elite – 600 nights and 10 years as Platinum or higher

The calculator's third step counts how close you are.

What I use

I'm Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite. In Dubai, I had Emirates NBD's Marriott Bonvoy card, which includes Gold Elite and 15 elite night credits a year.

The calculator doesn't assume anything about how you travel. It shows what Marriott's own rules give you.

Where the facts come from

The tiers, nights and benefits come from Marriott Bonvoy's own member benefits page and its program terms, read on September 28, 2026.

Each card's status and night credits come from its issuer's page: American Express, Chase and Emirates NBD.

The 12 hotels behind the calculator are real Marriott Bonvoy hotels, each named and linked the way its own page names it, with the video or photo credited to its Pexels creator.

Marriott can change its program, so check marriott.com before you plan a year around a tier.
