What is a BIMI checker?
A BIMI checker looks up the record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com, which points at your logo and, for most inboxes, at a mark certificate that proves the logo is yours.

Gmail also shows a checkmark next to senders verified with a VMC.
What a certificate costs
A VMC (Verified Mark Certificate) needs a registered trademark. A CMC (Common Mark Certificate) doesn't: Gmail accepts one for a logo that isn't trademarked.

Prices read on September 27, 2026 from each issuer's own page. GlobalSign, the third issuer BIMI Group lists, shows no price.
Without a certificate, Yahoo can still show your logo.
What the logo file needs
- SVG Tiny PS: baseProfile="tiny-ps" and version="1.2"
- A title, and no scripts, animation or links outside the file
- No x= or y= on the root
- Square, and at least 96 by 96 pixels in absolute sizes (Gmail)
- 32 KB or smaller (Gmail's recommendation)

Final thoughts on BIMI
BIMI comes last: it needs DMARC at quarantine or reject first, and for Gmail, a certificate that costs over $1,000 a year.
Get DMARC there with the DMARC checker, and publish the record once your logo file passes.
