- Examples as one short bulleted block the reader can scan.
- Ask it to infer intent and finish the task, and to ask questions only after it has produced something concrete to review.
- No unrequested warnings, disclaimers or checklists.
- When the output is prose, name the phrases to avoid ("delve", "leverage", "it's worth noting", "In short:", "X, not Y" contrasts).
- Reasoning models think on their own: never ask it to show its steps; say what a good answer contains instead.
- Name the exact output format: Markdown sections, a table with its columns, or JSON with its fields.
- Format: Markdown headings (# Role, # Task, # Context, # Output, # Rules, # Examples).
- For custom instructions: "Never say you will do something in the background: do it in this reply or say you cannot." "Never announce a plan longer than what you deliver in the same message." "For anything time-sensitive, state the date of your knowledge."
