Sonia Gil

Sonia Gil is the co-founder of Fluenz, the digital language learning platform launched in 2007, where she leads the creation of all learning content. She is also the host and co-creator of Sonia's Travels, a weekly web series about cracking the cultural codes of cities around the world, made with filmmaker Mariana Hellmund. She won the 2012 People's Voice Webby Award for Best Web Personality and a second People's Voice Webby in 2014 for her How to Travel series. Born in Venezuela and raised between Caracas and Florida, she studied plant genetics at Cornell and speaks 5 languages.
