Agentic browsing is when an AI agent uses a website for a person: finds a product, books a call, fills in a form.
The agent reads the page's structure to decide what to click. If a button has no name, the agent can't tell what it does.
How to check your site
What an agent needs from a page
An agent needs every control named and every field labeled. Here's what the report counts:
- Named buttons: a button with only an icon needs an aria-label.
- Named links: an icon link needs text or a label too.
- Clear link text: "Read more" tells an agent nothing; "Read the pricing guide" does.
- Labeled fields: every input needs a label, or the agent has to guess what goes in it.
- Landmarks: header, nav, main and footer tell the agent where things are.
- 1 main heading, the language, and a layout that works on a phone.
Most of these also help people who use screen readers, so every fix counts twice.
Agent protocols: A2A, MCP and WebMCP
Some sites hand agents their actions directly. An A2A agent card, an MCP server card or WebMCP tools on the page let an agent act without clicking through.
