What is a video background remover?
A video background remover finds the person in every frame of a video and takes out everything behind them.
You can then blur it, replace it with a color or a photo, or leave it see-through to put over another video.

The sound comes along unless you turn it off.
Bokeh like a real lens
Bokeh blurs your room the way a fast lens does at f/1.4 to f/2.
A second AI model works out how far back each part of the room is, so the wall right behind you softens a little and the far end a lot.
Lights turn into round discs, and they stay bright, the way they do through a real lens.
Toward the corners the discs narrow a little, like a fast lens's do, and your video's own grain stays in the blur so it doesn't look plastic.
Amount sets how strong the blur is. The first time you pick Bokeh, your browser downloads the second model once, 50 MB.
Formats, sizes and length
You can drop MP4, MOV and WebM videos that your browser can play. The new video keeps your video's size, up to 4K, and a bigger video comes out at 4K.
Each video can be up to 5 minutes. For a longer one, you pick a start and an end, and you can do the next part after.
How it works
It runs in your browser, one frame at a time:

The first time, your browser downloads the AI model once, 88 MB, and keeps it. It runs on your graphics chip where your browser allows it.
What it still gets wrong
It's made for people, and these are the videos where it struggles most:
- Things that aren't people – a product, a pet or a car in a video won't come out cleanly. For a photo of one, use the image background remover.
- Fast motion – a hand waving fast is blurred in the video itself, so its edge is soft.
- Look-alike colors – where your clothes or hair match the wall behind you, edges can wander.
The before and after slider shows the original and the result side by side, so you can check before you download.
Nothing is uploaded
Most video background removers send your video to their server. This one runs in your browser, so your video never leaves your computer.
