What is a website to HTML converter?

A website to HTML converter saves the code of a web page: the HTML a browser builds from it, as a file you can open, read or edit.

This one opens the page in a real browser first, so you get the page after its scripts ran, not the nearly empty source many sites send.

What you get

Three files, each made from the live page:

• The HTML – the page's code once loaded, without its scripts, pointing its pictures and styles back at the site.
• A screenshot – the top of the page, one section or all of it, as a PNG, JPG, WebP or PDF.
• Its DESIGN.md – the colors, type, corners, spacing and buttons the page uses, in Google's DESIGN.md format.

The DESIGN.md is read from the page's own styles, so its colors and fonts are the real ones, not a guess from a picture.

Turn it into Next.js, React or anything else

HTML is easy for an AI coding agent to read. With the screenshot and the DESIGN.md next to it, Claude Code or Codex has the layout, the look and the structure in one go.

Click Copy a prompt for your AI, attach the three files, and fill in the brackets.

The prompt asks your AI to list the sections first, build them with your own words and photos, then check the page on a phone and a desktop.

Without a tool

Chrome can save a page's HTML itself: open the page, then More, then Cast, save and share, then Save page as.

That saves the page as your browser has it. It doesn't give you the design as tokens, a screenshot or a prompt for your AI.

What it can't do

Some things don't come through in the HTML:

• Scripts – they're removed, so menus, forms and anything interactive won't work in the file.
• Pictures, fonts and styles – they stay on the site and load from there, so the file needs the internet to look right.
• Pages behind a login – it sees what anyone signed out sees.
• Font rights – the DESIGN.md names the fonts a page uses, and you still need the right to use them.

For a working copy of your own site, export it from the tool you built it with.

Use it fairly

A screenshot of someone else's site is fine for a review, a comparison, a client report or your own notes. Their design, words and photos still belong to them.

So don't pass their page off as yours, copy it into your own site, or sell it. If you share one in public, say whose site it is.
