This free dead hang test times your hang from a bar, or your farmer's carry, and shows it against Peter Attia's standards. Pick a backdrop and music, press start, and a bell rings when you reach the target.
Your times stay in your browser, so you can watch them climb over the months.
Here's why grip matters, Attia's standards, how to do each test safely, and how to train your grip.
Why grip strength matters
In the PURE study, Leong and colleagues measured the grip of 139,691 people in 17 countries. A weaker grip went with a higher risk of death, from any cause and from heart disease.
Attia uses grip as a sign of the strength that keeps you independent: carrying bags, opening jars, and catching yourself when you slip.
