What is a PNG to JPG converter?

When to convert PNG to JPG
JPG is made for photos. A photo saved as PNG is often 5 to 10 times bigger than it needs to be.
Screenshots and logos with flat colors and sharp text are better kept as PNG, or turned into WebP. JPG has no transparency, so see-through parts get a color you pick.

This converter's JPGs were 39% to 58% smaller than CloudConvert's, and scored 2.1 to 6.1 points lower. Every one scored over 80, the same side by side at 100%.
Against the PNGs themselves, the JPGs were 71% to 92% smaller. The photo of 2 macaws went from 558 KB to 46 KB.
How I tested
I tested on September 29, 2026. The PNGs were a Mac screenshot, a graphic from this site, Kodak test photo 23 and the PNG transparency demonstration from Wikimedia Commons.
The score is SSIMULACRA 2, a metric from Cloudinary that compares two pictures the way your eye does:
