WebP is already compressed, so the compressor starts on Balanced: most WebP images are already saved at a good quality.

The photo of 2 macaws lost the most, 21%, at a score of 77.6.
At High, all 3 came back unchanged: they were already smaller than High makes them, and the page says so.
How I tested
I tested on September 29, 2026. The WebP images were saved from the PNG compressor's test pictures at quality 85: a photo, a screenshot and a picture with transparency.
The score is SSIMULACRA 2, a metric from Cloudinary that compares two pictures the way your eye does:
